These camera-less photographs are made by letting darkroom chemicals react with light and air and with the silver gelatine layer present in photographic papers.
In this series the photographic paper operates like human skin and records the exposure to light and to a specific environment. The works reflect on the artist’s exposure to the darkroom environment over the time and they celebrate the traces of the image making process as evidences of the individual artist who produces the works of art.
This work has been shown at Revela-T Festival in Spain, Photokina Festival in Germany as well as Brighton Photo Biennial. It has been published in Beneath The Salt photobook, a compilation of works on salt published by YONA editions, and on Obsolete and Discontinued photobook published by Brovira Press. Some of these prints have been acquired by the Gabriela Cendoya-Bergareche Collection.
