Fissazioni (Fixations) (2011 /10)
Fissazioni analyses repetitive patterns in the depiction of the naked body through visual arts. The representation of the naked body in painting, sculpture, photography, and other visual arts has changed according to the ideology, values, morality and religion of a time period and location.
Luigi Pirandello called these conceptions of our reality and existence, fissazioni (Fixations). The normative frame that establishes the significance of things, including our body, is just a compound of temporal fixations.
This photo series explores the current fixations by depicting unusual bodies in uncommon spaces. Neither the models nor their surroundings adhere to the prevailing aesthetic.
